Specialization: Environment Art

Works I have been producing last year were rather broaden out from specializing on particular topic since I was sculpting human figures with anatomical correction involved, or concept paintings on either character and environment. However, trying to do this on last year will be extremely difficult when other artists want to show their specialized area of work and boost their confidence & technical abilities, thus I came up with conclusion that focusing on "environment art" is going to be the main subject.

Since there is a goal to achieve and specific topic to drive towards to, first things first, looking up different artists and gathering resources related to environment art is important.

  • Feng Zhu - an American Concept Designer, mostly known for his work on Star  Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith and his own Design School.

  • Noah Bradley - an American Concept Artist, mostly known for working on Magic:  the Gathering cards and numerous digital paintings on 'fantastic art'.

  • Simon Stålenhag - a Swedish concept Artist and a game developer, mostly known for his published book, two parts of "Tales from the Loop".

  • Jonas De Ro - a digital artist, mostly on concept art, illustration for films and  games.

These four modern digital artists should put me in the right direction to research towards to not just environment but what concept art represent to other artists or what are their reasons/ideals to create these pieces of work. Also, it is a valuable lesson to learn their unique skills to improve my personal art work, for example, their unique set of brushes (mostly for Photoshop) or the their specific perspective views etc.
